Hand-Penned Petals, Peaceful Moments, Sympathy Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

The "Book" stamping technique/card fold is fun and easy. I thought I would give it another try but a different orientation and here's what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Fresh Freesia card stock. I cut the card stock on the long side at 5-1/2".  I scored it at 4-1/4" and 5-1/2".  Fold the card in half and leave the other score mark as is. This is the front of the card.

I cut a Basic White strip at 3/4" x 5-1/4" and two pieces at 3" x 5-1/4"  One for the front and one for the inside. I taped the strip to the left side of the card. I taped the ribbon to the inside of the card in that 1" area. Then I glued the 1" area shut and I set the card aside to dry.

I took one of the larger Basic White pieces and I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Moments" set using black Memento ink.

Scrap Basic White card stock was used to stamp the flower image from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set using black Memento ink.  I stamped the flower twice. One on the 3" x 5-1/4" piece and one on a scrap piece of card stock. I fussy cut the three largest flowers.

The fussy cut flowers were colored in by using the matching stamps and Fresh Freesia ink. I took my Blender pen and colored the other four flowers on the 3" x 5-1/4" piece.  The leaves were colored in using light and dark Granny Apple Green Blends pens.  I was now ready to assemble the card.

I taped the 3" x 5-1/4" blank piece to the inside and I taped the stamped one on the outside.

Glue was used on the die cut flower piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The fussy cut flowers were set in place using Dimensionals.

I added pearls to the center of the flowers. I also had added one by the words. I didn't plan that one but there was a black dot on the paper. I wasn't sure if it was ink or something that was on the paper during the processing but it was there and it wasn't going away. So I had a tiny little pearl and I set it on that spot and the spot went away!!! Plus I think it looks cute there.

I took my ribbon and slipped it under the ribbon on the front and tied a knot. I cut the ribbon from the spool. I did add a little glue dot to the ribbon, it didn't want to stay tied.

This was a fun and easy card to make and I do like this fun technique.

Thank you SO much for stopping by to see this quick and easy sympathy card,
Wanda
