Hand-Penned, Get Well Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

When I was looking for a card on Pinterest yesterday, I had run across this one. Well, sort of. I did make a few changes. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. You could use Mint Macaron and add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White on the inside, that would work too but not necessary since you'd be covering the front of it.

I used a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package.  The original card used a pre-printed card from the "Hand-Penned Note Cards" pack. I didn't have those but I really did love that polka dotted background. I was looking in my package of DSP thinking I might have that too but no, I just had the stripes.  A little disappointed but eager to make the card, I cut the DSP and taped it to the front of the card.

Next I die cut the scalloped rectangle from the "Colors & Contours" dies.  I stamped the words from the "Hand-Penned" set using Mint Macaron ink. I did mask off the word "friend" on the stamp. I just wanted the "Feel Better" words.

Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of vellum and centered the rectangle on top. I turned it over and added tape over the rectangle area. I wanted to tape the vellum down but I didn't want the tape to show.  I set the vellum in place on top of the DSP.

Dimensionals were added to the rectangle piece and it was set in place on top of the vellum.

The flower is from the "Hand-Penned" set and was stamped using black Memento ink and colored with a Blender pen for the Pale Papaya flower and Blends pens were used for the Daffodil Delight flower and the Mint Macaron leaves and stems. Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower piece and it was set in place on top of the Basic White rectangle piece and the card was done.

I didn't add the bow and I had changed the colors because I didn't have a Just Jade ink pad, marker or Blends pen. I think it turned out well, I like it and that's what's important, right?

Thank you SO very much for stopping in today to see this sweet get well card,
Wanda
