Happiest of Birthdays, Expressions in Ink, Belated Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Now I know I made a birthday card for a friend of mine but where it is, I am not sure. Though I have a clue and if it is there then I'm really bad about paying attention to the notes on the calendar! And if it's not, I am really bad about paying attention to the notes on the calendar! LOL

Today's card is a very quick and easy card to make. I took a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock for the base of my card. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

Then I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package and set it in my Stamparatus.  The words are from the "Happiest of Birthdays" set and were stamped on the DSP using black Memento ink. I had to stamp twice because my ink pad is not inked properly. It's got dryer spots and very wet spots.  I'm not sure how to fix that.  With the foam pads you just take a plastic spoon and smooth out the ink. But with the fabric ones I'm not sure what to do. I have used my black Memento cube and sort of sopped up the excess ink but it didn't do a good job sopping.  So I try to stamp and change the orientation of the ink pad to try to get an even inking. Oh and DO NOT press too hard or you get darker (way too much ink) on one side and light to normal on the other. And then when you try to darken the light you get it too dark. It's a nightmare!!! LOL So I just try to tap lightly and stamp and then I will add more ink and stamp again. This is why I LOVE the Stamparatus. So, after getting the words dark enough, I added Dimensionals to the back. I set the piece in place on top of the Basic White card base.

I took three of the small gold "Metallic Pearls" and set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I can see myself making more of them. I love the large words too and I was glad that the DSP had an open area that was perfect for the words.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this quick and easy card,
Wanda

I've decided that this DSP is truly the most gorgeous paper Stampin Up has ever had.
