Sweet Ice Cream, Birthday Card, Children's Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I made this card with an adult in mind but it is also a perfect card for a child. It's a perfect card for anyone. Especially those who love ice cream!!!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Coastal Cabana card stock. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two pieces of  Basic White card stock that measured  1" x 5-1/4". One for the front and one for the inside.  I taped the one to the inside and I waited for the one for the front.

I had a scrap piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" package. I cut trimmed it up to measure 3-5/8" x 3-1/4". I taped it to a 3-3/4" x 3-3/8" piece of Coastal Cabana card stock. I didn't have any matching Stampin' Up! ribbon so I used some Offray ribbon I had gotten at Walmart a while back (before the pandemic - I haven't been in Walmart since Christmas of 2019).  Anyway, I was just happy that I had some ribbon that matched and I could use it. I didn't use it up, it was brand new but I can make more of this card and use more ribbon.  I taped the ends of the ribbon behind the layers using double sided tape and then when they were where I wanted them to be, I taped them down with scotch tape. I slipped the end of the ribbon still on the spool under the taped piece of ribbon, I tied a knot and then cut the end of the ribbon. I set this piece on top of the Basic White piece to see where the words would go.

The words are from the same "Sweet Ice Cream" set and were stamped using Cinnamon Cider ink. I had just ordered that ink pad. I love how much it looks like the color of gingerbread so I have plans for that color this fall with some retired gingerbread boy stamps, dies and punches.  Once the words were stamped I taped the piece to the card base.

The DSP layered piece was set in place using Dimenisonals.

I punched out the cone using the DSP from the "Ice Cream Corner" package.  It's actually from the back of the ice cream cone paper used on the card. It doesn't take much for the cone so I made sure that punched cones from any scraps.

I stamped the ice cream using the image from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set and Highland Heather ink. I also stamped some Highland Heather sprinkles. I added a little glue to the top edge of the cone and set the ice cream on to.  I thought the Highland Sprinkles were too light so I added some of the fun "Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles". Those were glued in place. I set the ice cream cone in place using Dimensionals on the upper part of the done and all over the ice cream.

A few more sprinkles were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

I LOVE how cute this card turned out. It's great for an adult or a child. It's colorful enough for females and the Cinnamon Cider leans towards the masculine. Just perfect!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by to see this cute ice cream cone card,
Wanda
