I found the perfect card on Pinterest that I can use my last strip of the "Ornate Garden" Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I had received as a gift. And now that I used it up and found so much fun stuff on Pinterest to create using it, do I buy a full 12" x 12" package of it? But then again, I just received my winter catalog in the mail today!!!! Hmmmm. What to do? What to do?
This card was very easy to make and I didn't have anything made ahead of time, or found items. I just took the strip that was left over, the rest was all cut and assembled and it really didn't take long at all.
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. My strip of DSP from the "Ornate Garden" pack was cut 5-1/2" x 2". And the layer behind it is a 5-1/2" x 2-1/4" piece of Soft Suede card stock. I taped the two pieces together and I taped them to the front of the card.
The words are from the "Beautiful Friendship" set. They were stamped using Soft Sued ink on Whisper White card stock. I die cut them using the second smallest "Stitched Circle" die. And at the same time I die cut a Crushed Curry scalloped circle that was just a bit larger than the stitched circle. I taped the circles together and added Dimenisonals to the back. I set the circles in place on the front of the card.
I die cut the flowers from the "Ornate Borders" dies. I cut them from a piece of Crushed Curry. Then I fussy cut the outer edges of the flowers. What a clever idea, huh? Not mine, I just copied it. I added a small Dimensional behind each flower.
I punched my leaves using Old Olive for two of them and Pear Pizzazz for one of them. I folded each leaf to give it a bit of dimension. I glued the stems under the scalloped circle.

I set the flowers in place on top of the leaves.
I colored three rhinestones using my light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. I set them in place in the center of each flower and the card was done.
Other than the fussy cutting, the other parts were super quick. It didn't take long to fussy cut the flowers and it wasn't difficult either. I can see myself doing that again.
This was a fun card to make and I was glad I was able to use up all of that DSP. I have many packets of DSP that were gifts for ordering and I have not used them. So I'm going to be doing some searching on the internet to see what I can make with them and use them up. I probably won't be posting many here since they are all out of retired products.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda

Love your card and the added little die cut flowers! Very pretty! I bought a pack of the Ornate Garden designer papers and have used very little of them because I'm hoarding them. I can't seem to get it through my head that if I actually use them SU will always becoming out with more and more beautiful papers to replace it.
