Positive Thoughts, Here's a Card, Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Isn't this card beautiful?  I found it on Pinterest and I just had to make it.  It's very easy to make too!  And there's a video to follow along.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Sea Foam card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The original card has you cut a 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock.

On top of the card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock that was textured using the "Layered Leaves" 3D embossing folder.  It's just taped onto the card base.

Then a 3" x 4-1/2" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock was cut. The original card has you cut this piece 6" x 4-1/2" and folded in half to measure 3" x 4-1/2".  It opens up and that is your place you write your sentiment.  I don't care for those types of cards.  It's difficult to tuck a check or money in some of them, so I usually convert them to a regular size card.

I die cut the Whisper White piece using the die that is from the "Nature's Thoughts" die set that is bundled with the "Positive Thoughts" stamp set.

Then the words are stamped next.  I used the words from the "Here's a Card" set and stamped them with Smoky Slate ink.

Then the fern leaf was added using Soft Sea Foam ink.

The butterfly is stamped separate and die cut. Then colored with the light Balmy Blue Blends pen and the light Soft Sea Foam Blends pen.

I taped those two layers together and then tied a polka dot organza ribbon around them.  The original card has you tie the ribbon around the stamped Whisper White piece and then that's taped to the front of the little card.  I set the piece in place on top of the embossed piece using Dimensionals.

I set the butterfly in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I just love the looks of this card. I can see it as being a very versatile card too. I may be making more in the near future. It's pretty enough for a sympathy card, Mother's Day card, Thinking of You card, and a Get Well card.  I just love these colors too.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
