Sailing Home, Here's a Card, Masculine Birthday Card

I just LOVE the looks of this card. So much so that I had to make one!  I found this card on Pinterest.  Here is the direct link to the blog it came from. There is a video there for you to follow.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

The instructions didn't say what size circle was used (unless I missed it) so I die cut a 2-3/8" circle for my template.  I cut my piece of card stock 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" so I could just line up all the edges for sponging.  I used Post-It tape to hole my mask in place.  I sponged in some Bermuda Bay ink. I didn't buy the new in colors so I just left it at Bermuda Bay.  And the sky was sponged in using Pacific Point because I didn't have the Blueberry Bushel ink.  I just couldn't justify buying the in colors anymore.  By the time I was done getting the card stock, ink, inkers and markers I had $80+ into it.  And then in two years I would be sitting on several of the colors because I didn't care much for them or have much of a use for them.  So after I realized how much I had left over a couple of years ago I decided I was done buying them.  I manage to work with what I have and I'm happy with that.

Okay, once the sky and the sea were sponged in, leaving the mask on, I splattered a little bit of water from my Aqua Painter pen.  I may have gotten more water on mine than the original card but who's going to know?  Well, you now know!!! LOL

The birds were stamped next. I used Night of Navy to stamp them.

Then I stamped the sail boat from the "Sailing Home" set.  I die cut the boat and colored it. I used the light Night of Navy Blends Pen for the boat.  Bermuda Bay light and dark for the water and Smoky Slate light for the sale.  I did color the mast in using the light Crumb Cake Blends but it isn't showing up very well.  I may use my marker.  I am not sure if the dark Blends would be too dark.  Mine is dried up for some reason so I ordered a new one.  That is why I used the light one.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set. I stamped them using Night of Navy ink.

I set the sail boat in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.  I want to make more. I just LOVE what is in the circle!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
