I still find it difficult to create masculine birthday cards. I always want to add a bow, ribbon, glitter or even buttons and brads!!! Now this card I could have gotten by with one brad but I was being cheap and didn't want to pay the extra postage to send it through the mail.
I was SO into making Valentine's Day cards that I sat for a while and looked at the Valentine's stamps trying to figure out how I could make a masculine birthday card with them. The it dawned on me that I did have some stamps that were masculine! DUH!!! So I took the Stampin' Up! "Wanted" set off the shelf, opened up my newly filled album of card layouts from SplitCoastStampers Sketch Challenges and found a layout I liked. Well, the layout didn't end up like the one in the album. Actually I think I created a brand new one!! LOL
I think the card turned out well and I'm sure my newphew won't notice it nor will he save it!!! Sheeesh, guys!!! I do like that decorative paper. I have lots of little scraps and these kinds of layouts allow you to use the scraps up. Ok, maybe not use them up but use some of them!!!! Be real here!!! LOL
I was thinking that I now have all of the family birthdays covered for this month and then I remembered I need one more. Of course another masculine one for my brother-in-law. His birthday isn't until the end of the month but I'm going to make it this weekend or next week and be all caught up for the month!!! That will be a first for me! Ok, not a first but a first in a very long time!!!
Ok, I'm off to clean up my worktables, I have no room left to work!!!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

ReplyDeleteCheap, LOL! It is just plain hard to make a card with no bling. Love your creation.
ReplyDeleteYour card came out great Wanda. I too struggle making masculine cards and have a few to make myself that I have been stalling making.
