Healing Hugs, Get Well Card

The choice of stamp set I wanted to play with today is the "Healing Hugs".  I bought this because it reminded me a bit of the 2018 Sale-a-Brations flower.  But this one isn't quite as nice, though it's still easy to work with and quick to do.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Berry Burst card stock.  And the focal piece is cut 3-3/4" x 5".

I stamped the flower (which I wished I had moved it up just a bit more) using Berry Burst ink.  I made a mask and covered the flower and stamped the leaves using Granny Apple Green.

The words are from the same "Healing Hugs" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I took a piece of the Berry Burst Metallic-edge ribbon and taped the ends to the back of the focal piece.  I taped all the layers together.  I slipped the ribbon (still on the spool) under the ribbon I taped in place and I tied a knot. I cut the ends and slid it along to a spot where I thought it looked best.  And that was it.

I needed a super quick card to make today. I'm still not feeling well, though I am feeling better.  This cough is just hanging in there.  I hope none of you get this, it's awful. And today is my birthday. It started with a package on the counter for me when I woke up this morning. Then an email from a sweet friend with the Casey Jones "Happy Happy Birthday" song on it!!! A bit of nostalgia (not saying how old I am, but my mom had a bread box and our phone had a dial on it!!! LOL I had ordered my groceries yesterday and I picked them up today. I had no energy to go shopping myself. And then I went to lunch with a dear friend. I had a great day!  Hubby brought dinner home and after dinner we had Bundtlets from "Nothing Bundt Cakes".  Mine was lemon!!! YUM!!!! And my day was topped off by the granddaughters (3 & 5) singing Happy Birthday to me over the phone before they went off to bed.  It melted my heart.  It was a grand day!

Thank you SO much for visiting my blog today. It really does mean a lot to me.
