Beautiful Bouquet, Garden Trellis, Wedding Card, Stampin' Up! 2018-2019 Catalog

Several years back (I don't know how many), I had made a card using this layout and I've never forgotten it. I thought I would give it a try again sometime when there was some fun flower paper to play with.  Well, the time has come. The paper is the "Share What You Love" Specialty Series Designer Paper (SDSP).  This time I used the side with the shimmer on the flowers but of course it doesn't show up on the card here.  UGH!!  But trust me, it's there and it shimmers and it's very pretty.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mint Macaron. On top of that is a 4"x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black and on top of that is a piece of Whisper White cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and textured with the "Garden Trellis" embossing folder. I taped those layers together and set it aside while I worked on the squares.

The Basic Black squares were cut 1-3/4" x 1-3/4".  You will need three of them.  I cut a 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" piece of Whisper White and I cut two 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" pieces of the SDSP.  I taped those layers together.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I have the clear stamps. I don't know if they come any other way, but that is what I used.  I set the stamp over my square to try to get the words as straight as possible. Then I took my clear block and lined up the bottom and the left edge (because I'm right handed) and I pressed the stamp to the block. Then I inked up the words and lined the side and bottom again and stamped the words.  As simple as that!!!

Next I located the center of the top of the embossed piece and set one of the flowered pieces there. I set the other one below it. Under the word piece, those two flower pieces touch tip to tip. There is about an 1/8" space between the top tip and the edge of the embossed piece. I used snail to set those two pieces in place.

Then I added Dimensionals from tip to tip. You don't want any on the sides because of the thickness of the SDSP and the card stock. I also tucked small Dimensionals in on the top sides to give it a bit more stability. I probably should have added them when I was placing the first ones but I didn't know it would be that unstable. If I would have put more thought into it, I would have set my pieces in place backwards so I could see and mark where the Dimensionals should go.  But it's obviously not one of my "Brilliant Ideas" day!!! LOL

I added a few of the new Mint Macaron "Faceted Dots" to the word square and the card was done.  I thought it went together rather quickly. And I also thought it was a fun card to make. I LOVE playing with those squares!!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
