Varied Vases, Petal Palette, Birthday, Congratulations Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found a fun card on Pinterest but after I began assembling it, I didn't think it was all that fun. It's pretty but not all that fun to make.  Well, the flower part anyway. The rest was easy and fun!

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. It was cut on the 8-1/2" side. This card opens at the bottom.

I used the square scalloped die and a square die (not scalloped) to make the scalloped frame out of Mint Macaron card stock.  I didn't use the largest scalloped square, it was the second largest one in the package.

The Whisper White square was cut using the same square die that was used on the inside of the Mint Macaron frame.

I stamped the vase using Smoky Slate and the "Varied Vases" stamp set.  I stamped the flowers.  I had better luck with the flowers when I punched them out using Whisper White card stock. I stamped the black tulip outline and then I stamped the flower. I used Melon Mambo on four of them and I used the image again without inking on the other four. I stamped some Mint Macaron stems on the Whisper White square.  You can't see them, so don't bother!!  I stamped some leaves using Mint Macron ink.  Then I punched out some Mint Macaron leaves and I was ready to assemble.  I was kind of excited about it, at first!!! LOL

I set the vase in place using Dimensionals. Then I added the flowers using Dimensionals. I used glue dots to add the leaves.  The flower assembly was not fun. I lost all of the Mint Macaron stems, but it's okay, I think having all of the flowers bunched together like I have mine makes bunch look fuller.

Once I got done assembling the flowers I was ready to add the frame.  I used glue dot pieces on the top, bottom and left corners of the frame. You may want to work on your grid paper to get the frame even from top to corner on both the left and right. If it's off a bit, it will show a lot!  Once I got those three corners set in place I added three small Dimensionals to the Whisper White square. I added one in the top and bottom left corners and one just under the vase.  I slipped the piece into the right side of the frame. I pressed the left side down to set the piece in place.

The words are from the "Petal Palate" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I would do this layout again but not with a bunch of flowers.  Maybe a single flower in the vase??? Not sure if I would even use the "Varied Vases" for the next one.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
