Varied Vases, Birthday Card 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I wanted to play with the "Varied Vases" set (again!).  I have a few sets that I am SO loving to play with and I have a feeling that the other sets I have will sit in their containers and maybe get used once in a great while. I think that happens when I impulse buy!!

Anyway, back to the card for today. I found it on Pinterest but I didn't get any information about it. I couldn't read who the artist was.  And if you click on the photo it takes you back to Pinterest, not to the blog were it came from. It obviously wasn't posted right in Pinterest. So I did my best making it and playing with some fun colors.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Sea Foam. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Flirty Flamingo.  And the Whisper White piece is 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  Lots of layers on this card!

First I stamped the black edge bar piece from the "Varied Vases" set using black Memento ink.  Next I stamped the vase. Once again I didn't have the punch but I did punch out a few Whisper White pieces using the punch Terri borrowed me.  She's SO good to me.  I used the Stamperatus to line up the vase outline and I stamped it over the punched out piece.  Usually you stamp and then punch but I didn't have that luxury.  But with the Stamperatus you can stamp almost anything that has already been punched out!!And with precision!! I colored the vase using Pear Pizzazz ink.

Next I set the vase on the black border line and marked where I was going to stamp the flower outline image. I stamped that image using black Memento ink.  Then I set the vase in place to see where to mark the card front for the leaves.  I stamped the leaves using Pear Pizzazz ink.

I lined up the solid part of the flower on the outline image and I stamped it using Flirty Flamingo ink.

I set the vase in place using Dimensionals.  And I stamped the words to the right of the vase using black Memento ink. The words are also from the "Varied Vases" set.

This card went together pretty quickly. I thought it was fun to make and I think I would make more but using it as a get well, thinking of you or a thank you card.  The single flower seems to fit those events better.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
