Varied Vases, Birthday Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found this fun card on Pinerest.  What caught my eye was that fun colorful dotted background paper.  Oh and I actually have it!!!  It's from the "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).  The ohter side of this paper is pretty too, it's got some pretty peachy looking flowers and some shimmer!! The shimmer is why it's called SDSP.

The base of my card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.  And on top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of the SDSP.

Next I stamped the vase from the "Varied Vases" set on a piece of scrap card stock using Mint Macaron ink.

On a separate piece of Whisper White card stock I stamped the flower stems using Mint Macaron.  Then I stamped the flowers using Daffodil Delight and then I stamped the leaves. I also used the fun solid images to fill in the flowers and the leaves.  The flowers I didn't stamp off but the leaves I did.  Looking back I think I would have used Crushed Curry for the outline of the flowers and still use the Daffodil Delight for the colored part. I colored the flowers with Wink of Stella to add some shimmer.

I die cut the flower piece with the Stitched Oval dies. I die cut a large oval scallop using Basic Black  card stock. And no, I didn't cut it from the layer behind the SDSP, it slipped my mind.  Oh well!!  I taped the ovals together. I added some pearls the the flowers and then I set the vase in place using a few Dimensional pieces.  I added some pearls to the vase. I thought it could use a little something.

I set the oval in place using Dimensionals.  I stamped the words using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock. I punched them out with the Classic Labels punch. I set them in place with Dimensionals.  And that was it.  Don't you just LOVE that dotted background?  It's so colorful and festive looking.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
