Petal Palette, You're Inspiring, Birthday Card

I took a day off from stamping due to the HUGE annual garage sale in our neighborhood.  It's just crazy.  From 8 am on Saturday until 3 pm, there was a constant flow of people.  Never was there a time when there was no one in our garage or driveway.  I was exhausted by the end of the day. So tired that I had no energy to go to my workroom and make a card. So here I am today, Mother's Day, in my workroom getting a card in under the deadline!!  By deadline I mean, there is a time that you need to get your card posted or it becomes the next day's business.  So I'd better stop chatting here and get down to business!! LOL

This was a very easy card to make. And quick too.  Plus after making it I found an even quicker way to make it.  But that's okay, I'm fine with how I did it.  I liked the layout I saw on Pinterest

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I took a quarter sheet of card stock along with the stitched square and a regular square die and die cut the frame.  The stitched square was the second largest one and the regular square was the 1-7/8" x 1-7/8" one.  I taped them together with a post it note and then ran it through my Big Shot.  I also cut a 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" square for the base of the square frame.

I stamped the flowers from the "Petal Palette" set.  I colored them in with the Rich Razzleberry Blends markers.  And the leaves were colored in with the light Old Olive Blends.  I used the retired Soft Sky Blendabilities marker for around the flower.  I just scribbled it in.  I had also stamped another flower image and fussy cut the flowers. I also colored those and used Dimensionals to set them in place.  I added Dimensionals to the frame piece and set it in place on the stamped square piece.  Now here is where I could have just set the square stitched frame where I wanted it to go, lightly traced the square and then stamped and colored the image, erased the pencil marks and set the frame in place.  Either way works, just one less step to do the second way.

The "Happy Birthday" was from the "You're Inspiring" set.  I don't use that set much, mostly for the "Happy Birthday" wording.  And that was it.  I think it's a very fun, clean and simple card to make.  Though I think if I make another one I will add a 2" x 2" piece of colored card stock layer behind the square.  The color would depend on the color of the flowers I'm working with. I may make up some of these squares to have on hand for when I need a quick card.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

Love the simplicity of your card, Wanda. Perfect for sympathy cards which I make often and also Get Well and Thinking of you. I will be making these in volume so I will have them on hand. Thank you so much for sharing😉
