Santa's Suit, Oh What Fun, Christmas Card

I know it's a bit early for Christmas cards but I got this set and I couldn't help but play with it.  I LOVE that Santa beard, it's just too stinkin' cute.  And that's not the cutest image in the set!!! I had an idea and I just had to play with it!

This is a fun layout to play with too.  Here's how I did it.  I took a half sheet of Real Red card stock. It was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side.  The next layer is the plaid Decorative Series Paper (DSP) from the "Christmas Around the World" 12" x 12" pack.  That piece was cut 4-1/8" x 5-3/8".  The next layer is a 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock. The next layer is a 3" x 4-1/8" piece of the "Christmas Around the World" DSP. And on top of that is a 2-7/8" x 4" piece of the Red Glimmer paper. Oh and you need a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Whisper White to stamp on, plus some scrap Whisper White for the words.

To make the front of this card the easy way, place the glimmer paper and the smaller DSP on top of each other.  Add a little bit of tape somewhere around the area you think the hole will be punched.  You are doing this to hold the piece together while you punch.  You don't need to add tape, you can try to hold it tightly.  Once you have the two lined up, take the 1-1/4" circle punch and slide the paper in on the shorter end and line up the sides so they look even on each side of the punch. Punch out the circle. Next take the 1-3/8" circle punch and line up the glimmer paper and punch that hole so it's a little bigger.  And there you have it.  Now tape those two pieces together.  Add Dimensionals to the back, some snail tape to the 2-1/8" x 2-1/8" stamped piece and set side.

Next I stamped the beard using Basic Black ink.  I punched out a tiny piece of glimmer paper for the nose. You can use any of the pink colored card stock or Real Red will work too.  I set that piece in place using Dimensionals.  I stamped the words using Garden Green ink and the words from the "Oh What Fun" set. I used the oval die to cut it out along with a Garden Green scalloped oval.  I taped those two pieces together and added Dimensionals to the back of it. I set the words in place and then tied a piece of "Mini Tinsel Trim" and tied it around that panel.

Tape the 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White to the DSP.  Now you can add the glitter panel piece and you are done!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Awwww CUTE, CUTE, CUTE....I love your card.. I check your blog everyday but I don't comment but I think it's about time I do. I absolutely LOVE all your cards. BTW, it's not to early for christmas cards. I already have about 30 made. If I don't start early they don't all get done. Have an AWESOME day.
