Flourishing Phrases, Friendship Card. Recessed Panel Technique

This looked SO much prettier in my head.  I didn't have the flower that was used in the original card I found on Pinterest, so I thought I could get by using the flower from the "Flourish Thinlits". You can see the original card here. Perhaps if you don't look at the original card you may think this one is just fine the way it is! LOL

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I cut the front of the card to leave 1" on the left. The piece I cut off, I cut that to 1-3/4".  I stmaped the wordss from the "Flourishing Phrases" set using Tangerine Tango ink.

I cut a 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock and I cut another piece at 2" x 5-1/2".  I taped those pieces to the Whisper White pieces.  I used a scrap piece of the "Delightful Daisy" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  I taped that to the edges of the front parts of the card.  I taped the DSP to the loose 2" piece. I added tape to the piece that is on the front left.  I lined up the right piece and then pressed the left side onto the DSP.  I took a 1/4 sheet of Whisper White and trimmed it to a little less than 4-1/4" and taped it to the back of the inside front of the card.  It looked awful leaving it the way it was.

I die cut the flower and leaves from the "Flourish" Thinlits.  The flower was cut from Pumpkin Pie card stock and the leaves were cut from Pear Pizzazz card stock.  I cut a few of the leaves off so it looked more like a stem than a branch of leaves.  I glued the stem in place and I set the flower in place using a Dimensional. I added a pearl to the center to hide the Dimensional.  And that was it. Pretty quick and simple.  And a little pretty!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

I think this is a very pretty card. Don't know what the original was, but this one looks perfectly fine. Love this technique. Enjoy your day!
