A Wetlands Papillon Potpourri and Butterfly Framelit Birthday

When I was at Terri's Stamping Technique night I saw a pretty card from her display boards.  I did change it quite a bit.  I don't have any current decorative paper, so I used the Dazzling Diamonds paper.  I thought it would be pretty with the Smoky Slate card stock.   I layered the Dazzling Diamonds paper on top of a scrap piece of Smoky Slate.

The small butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri set.  I stamped them using Smoky Slate ink and punched them out.  I set them in place using Dimensionals.  I added 3 tiny perls down th ecenter of each one.

The large butterfly is from the Butterfly Thinlits.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.  I added 6 medium size pearls down the center of each one.

The words are from the Wetlands set.

This would also be a pretty get well card, sympathy card, anniversary card, and a wedding card.

This was a super easy and quick to make.  And now I get to have little bits of glitter on me for the remainder of the day!!! LOL

I just happened upon the original card so I thought I should give credit where credit is due.  Angie  at Too Cool Stamping has the original card posted on her blog, the original card was made by Michelle Hoover. I have no link to any info on Michelle, sorry.  Updated 6-6-15

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Beautiful Card!!!

How did you do your layers to make the butterfly. I have tried several and still have "stuff" clinging to the underside of the butterfly. Or, is this going to happen no matter how things are layered?

Thanks for sharing!

Hello Belle,
All of the butterflies are either cut out using the thinlits or punched out and set in place using Dimensionals. There are no layers on the butterfly. It may be the shadow of the light that appears to be looking like another layer.

Wanda, thank you for your response...I really didn't explain myself very well. I was referring to the way you keep the paper from sticking to the die. I have the large butterfly, and the paper stick to the die.

My SU dealer uses a sandwich of waxed paper and plain handy wipes. The wipes leave fibers behind... not fun to remove from the butterfly. I was interested in knowing if you use these things or just the paper with the die and accept the fact that the paper will stick to the die.

Again, thank you and also for sharing your beautiful cards and tips.

Hello Belle,

Sorry I misunderstood you. I use the magnetic platform. I'm not sure if it works better because it's the exact thickness you need but I always use it with the Framelits. I set clear plate on top of the platform. My plates are extremely well used so you don't need to make sure you have a pristine plate. I set my card stock on top of the plate. Then a piece card stock goes next, then the waxed paper. The die goes on top of that and then the other plate is set on before you run it through your Big Shot. I use to put a piece of waxed paper on both sides of the card stock. Some one said that is what works for them. I tried it and it works but I also forget to add it to the bottom and it still works. I hope this helps you out.
