The Open Sea Father's Day Card

Now that Mother's Day has passed, it's time to work on Father's Day cards.  This card is based on a card made by Darlene Stamps at Split Coast Stampers.  I did change it a bit.  I started to make the lines on my score board but it got messed up so I just gave up.  I stamped the background instead.  It still has a nice effect, plus I got to use another stamp from that set!!!  One that I don't get to use too often.  I used hemp twine for the knots. I also taped them to the back.  I taped them well too, I didn't want them coming loose.  That front panel was set in place using Dimensionals.

The focal panel was cut 2-3/8" x 3-3/8".  The Early Espresso layer was cut 1/8" larger.  The stamped background Crumb Cake layer was cut 5-1/8" x 3-3/8".  The Early Espresso layer behind that was cut at 5-1/4" x 4".  The layers were set in place on a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I used a blender pen and Pacific Point to add the water below the ship.

I just realized I had not added the brads to my card.  I added candy dots (after I realized I forgot the brads) instead.  I will take a photo of it tomorrow and show you.  It does make a BIG difference!!!

This was a very easy and fun card to make.  Plus it's a great masculine card.  Wouldn't it make a great masculine birthday card too?

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Nice mixture of stamps to add what appears to be texture as well as layers.

Nice manly card...
