Blooming with Kindness Thumping Technique Mother's Day Card

Today I was inspired by a card I found at Split Coast Stampers.  It was made by Mary, aka StamperCamper.

I thought it was such a pretty card.  Mary's card is a square card.  I try to stay away from square cards!  I have done a number of challenges on Split Coast Stampers using square cards but to just make one as a card to give away, well... no.  I prefer the standard size.

And once again you catch me making a Mother's Day card.  I do need to find one I like to give to my mom.  this one is pretty but it's not speaking to me!

Thumping is a very fun technique.  Take care when you use it that you "thump" with the darker colors.

To make this card I stamped the flower image from the "Blooming with Kindness" set using the Pink Pirouette ink pad.  Next I took my blender pen and wiped away the ink from the stem of the flower.  Then I took my Melon Mambo marker and tapped on the flower.  You hold the marker like you would hold a drum stick and just let it bounce off the rubber.  Depending on the colors you use, you may have to wipe your marker off like you do with your blender pen on scrap paper.  Just to get that color mix off.  I only did that once with this flower and I didn't notice any difference so I kept thumping.  It is difficult to see how much color you are adding using these two colors.  I just started at one side of the flower and worked my way across to the other side and hoped for the best.  I do like what I see!  No two will be alike, that's for sure!!!

When I was done with the thumping I took the Wild Wasabi marker and colored in the stem.  I added a Pink Pirouette layer behind the focal layer and the base of the card is Whisper White.  Before I put the layers together I punched out the Pink Pirouette scallop.  You can't even tell on the card that I did that. It's hidden between the layers!  There was not one scrap of that color and I just didn't want to take a new piece of card stock to punch my scallop.  The next layer is Melon Mambo and the words were done on my computer.

And there you have it.  A pretty, quick and easy card to make.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
