Double Slider Card Technique

Here is the fun card technique I promised you.  These are very fun to make too!  I have made several of them and I find the hardest part is knowing what to stamp for the slider parts!

I used the wagon from the "For the Birds" set.  I taped off the words and just used the wagon, and for the flower I used the "Bright Blossoms" set.  The words are from the "Wacky Wishes" Hostess set.

My colors here are Daffodil Delight, and Pacific Point.  The decorative paper is from the "Summer Smooches" pack.

Now I suppose you want the directions!!!  Well, since you asked so nicely! LOL

Take a piece of card stock (here I used Pacific Point) and cut it in half on the short side.  Fold the piece in half and then cut 3"off the front flap.  Take that piece you cut off and glue the short edges to the inside of the card on the right (where you see the decorative paper in the photo.  Take a 1/2" or 3/4" circle punch and punch a half circle in the center, as you see in the photo.

Next you need to find some fun decorative paper.  Cut it 2-3/8" x 4-1/8".  Punch out your circle like you did for the right side of the card.  I didn't cut my circle in the decorative paper before I glued it in place.  That is why there isn't a nice 1/8" border under the first half circle cut.  But it still looks good that way.

Now for the slider part.  Take a piece of card stock (I used Whisper White here) and cut it 3" x 2" and another piece cut 5-1/2" x 3-1/4".  Glue the smaller piece on top of the larger piece.  Glue it to the left edge of the larger piece (on the short side).  While it is drying find the images you'd like to stamp.  Insert the slider part in the card.  Just open the card up and slide the larger part under the decorative paper piece.  Make sure the smaller piece goes over it.  You can lightly mark where you want your image to be stamped.  If you feel you have enough room to stamp, go ahead and stamp your image. Or you can remove the slider and then stamp the image.  And do the same with the word part.  On my first one I stamped my image too far over to the right and you could see the flower through the tab the half punched circle created.

Ok, once you have the images done and the slider in place you will be gluing the front flap to the back of the card.  Just run a small line of glue on the top and bottom of the front flap.  And now you need to hide that seam on the front.  Here I took a piece of Daffodil Delight and cut it 5-1/2" x 1/2".  And your card is now ready for you do decorate the front.  Once you are sure the glue is dry, push the slider part inside the card.  If the white card stock is sticking out too far from the edge on the right, you may need to trim the end of the that piece and now it's ready for you to give to someone special!   Or tuck it in your stash of cards like I do!!!

I told you they were fun to make! And wasn't it worth the wait?  LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
