Split Coast Sketch Challenge 135

I participated in another Sketch Challenge (SC) at Split Coast Stampers. I love doing the Wednesday SC because I get to play with a new layout. This layout was very fun and will work with a lot of the stamps I have. The hard part is trying to decide what to put on the card. Usually I know what I'm going to put on my card but I don't know the layout. I find it a big challenge for me to be given the layout first and having to "fit pieces" into that format. I've been doing them for a few weeks now and have managed to "fit the pieces" in place!!!

For this card I used Bashful Blue for the main part of the card. Then I added a piece of white trimmed down 1/4" all around. I used the Cuddlebug Snowflake folder and then used a brayer with the Bashful Blue ink and went lightly over the top of it. I wanted all the raised pieces blue and using the brayer was the fastest way to do it for me.

I found a snowman that would fit in the oval and stamped and colored it. Then I used the Coluzzle and cut out the ovals. I only had silver snowflake brads and I wanted white ones so I took the brad and held it with a clothespin and heated it with the embossing tool. I dipped the hot brad in white embossing powder and heated it a bit more until it all melted and was smooth. I set it aside to cool off. I assembled my card as shown in the diagram for the SC135 layout, added the brads and it was done. A pretty quick card!! I LOVE snowmen and I like how this card turned out.

Shhh, don't say anything but I just realized I used the same snowman in my last SC at Split Coast last week!!! If I use it again people may think it's the only stamp I own!!! It's one I know I'm going to keep for a LONG time!!!

If you have the time I recommend you stop by at Split Coast and try one of their challenges. they have a new challenge theme every day! Wednesday is the Sketch Challenge. It's the only one I've participated in so far. As things slow down here (if they ever do) I will venture out and try another new challenge. But for now it's just the Wednesday one!!!

Thank you for stopping by,
Wanda
